the magazine for spellers

Every word, story, and idea in this magazine has been created by non, minimally and unreliably speaking autistic spellers. Each piece has been thoughtfully communicated, one letter at a time, using a letterboard or keyboard and brought together here to be shared with the world.

origin of the drop

The first edition of The Drop magazine was published in 2022. Many spellers contributed, and their work was brought together by Alex Hopwood from Transforming Education for Autism (TEfA). The issue was shaped around a theme selected by one of the spellers themselves - ‘What makes life meaningful?’

This experience was widely enjoyed by contributors and readers, and since then the magazine has grown to include an ever-expanding community of spellers. It is now evolving into a charity, continuing to celebrate and amplify the voices of autistic non, minimally and unreliably speaking spellers!
